JUST CONFIRMED! International expert on leadership and change management. An acclaimed author and motivational speaker. Mr. Heil has long admired and recommended the MICROSOCIETY educational design as an organizational development strategy for his corporate clients.
Do not miss keynote speaker Gary Heil – expert on leadership, former member of the Board of Examiners for the Malcolm Baldridge National Quality Award , author of several books and Co-Author of “Leadership and the Customer Revolution.” In this book he challenges us to re-examine our thinking about change and encourage those around us to realize their potential. He uses a MicroSociety school to illustrate his point, “If eighth graders can do it, why can’t or don’t we?” Gary understands the importance and success of allowing students to design their own society and take significant control of their education. He recognizes the great potential to model business and organizational change after MICROSOCIETY. Come hear what we are doing right!
Why Attend?
“I took my entire staff to the MICROSOCIETY Convention for five years. The percentage of our children meeting standards increased 217% in reading and 182% in math with Micro. Although now retired, I still go to update my skills.”
Triana Olivas, Former Principal, Sageland Elementary School, El Paso, TX
MICROSOCIETY’s National Conference on Real World Learning has been at the heart of our support services since 1993 and remains the highlight of the year for MICROSOCIETY practitioners as well as non-MICROSOCIETY educational leaders and after school directors interested in real world learning strategies for their K-8 population. Held annually, the conference brings together practitioners, parents, and individuals from the private and public sectors for an intensive three day series of workshops concerning all aspects of real world learning. Many are offered by seasoned teachers in MICROSOCIETY settings. Others are conducted by outside professionals on the cutting edge of real world learning. The conference has proven to be an invaluable networking opportunity as well. Attendees will participate in a real life hands on learning experience with a site visit to Chula Vista Learning Community Charter School.
