About Us

Mission

At MICROSOCIETY we believe that kids learn best by doing. Our mission is to create environments that motivate children to learn by engaging them in the connections between the classroom and real life.

Unlike so many other educational programs, the MicroSociety program was started by a teacher in a New York City classroom who was trying to address a need. As the program spread by word of mouth and found success in schools in more than 40 states, data confirmed that it is a powerfully effective approach to teaching and learning.

Our Governance Boards
Business, education, and community leaders with a passion for excellence, guide MicroSociety in the fulfillment of its mission. They work to ensure the organization’s health and viability, provide financial oversight and legal accountability. They serve as advocates for the empowering of children through educational innovation, particularly MicroSociety’s experiential, real-world programming.
